David E. Grimes, CEO and Founder
Mr. Grimes began his career in the Credit Card Processing industry in 1988, at the very beginning of the electronic credit card processing era. He invested 6 years with Card Service International (a division of First Data Corporation) and NOVA Information Systems (now part of US Bank) providing Merchant Client & Sales Agent training programs nationwide.
As founding employee of Cornerstone Payment Systems in 2001, Mr. Grimes was responsible for Sales Agent Recruitment and New Business Development. He had a track record of generating business in excess of 1000 new merchant client accounts per month. He then founded Cornerstone Working Capital in 2002 and has generated several million dollars of Cash Advance business, nationwide. Mr Grimes founded SmartMerchant Solutions Inc. (a credit card processing venture) in 2003 to help fill a market niche and sold it in 2006.
Prior to his career in the credit card processing industry, he held various financial positions with Fireman's Fund Insurance, Dean Witter Reynolds and Business Investment Group. He has held state licenses in Residential Real Estate, Life Insurance, and Series 7 & 63. Mr. Grimes launched his financial career with a B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Pace University in White Plains, New York
